The Latest Research & Development of IntelligentHighway System in China

摘要

Intelligent highway system (HIS) is a new ITS solution from the road infrastructurestandpoint to solve the traffic congestion, accidents, air pollution, etc. HIS is also anincremental evolution process which must be handled step by step from assistance for safedriving to automated operation. During the past few years, some key technologies of HIS, e.g.Intelligent speed support and the magnetic guidance based automated driving, has beenperformed by ITSC. In this paper, a detailed review of the research work is given, as well as abrief introduction of the prototype system which is being developed by ITSC in the ProvingGround for Highway and Traffic (PGHT) of MOC in China.
