Multiple and Integrated Toll Collecting Machine (MIC-9)

MIC-9 (see Fig.1) is to be installed at exit tollgate of highway. It informs the toll with audioassist and visual guidance to answer for anydriver (driver) in response to toll ticketinserted by him/her, and accepts variouspayment methods such as cash, credit card,and prepaid card.In development stage of MIC-9, we contrivedbroad range of mechanism to improve driver'soperability and convenience, in conjunctionwith reduction of service time per car, whichwere pending issue in the field of automatictoll collection. The issues and measureencountered in the development are describedbelow, as well as fruitage achieved throughout.
