Visual Assistances Based on HIR Systemfor Safe Driving at an Intersection

For progress of ITS, it is expected that the road infrastructure maintenance is carried out more.Therefore, there will be set of cameras and sensors on the roads. Using their information, wepropose HIR system as a driver assistant system. In HIR, we do not use images fromin-vehicle cameras or road cameras as 'sensor', but as 'image', and show the assistant imageto drivers. In this paper, we show the algorithms to generate assistant images by HIR and theresults of our experiment on a diorama. Then, we show the results of an experiment in realsituation at an intersection. Finally, we can generate the driver-assistant image on a carmonitor in real-time.
