CRITERIA FOR PRIVACY AND INTEGRITY PROTECTION IN PROBE VEHICLE SYSTEMS

In the ITS market, more and more attention has been paid to safety, comfort, mitigation ofimpact on the environment and energy efficiency. The expectations on the use of the ProbeVehicle System which is considered to be a key factor of a solution for the above issues is maturing because of its infrastructure independent characteristics. However, some concernson how the information in probe vehicle systems is handles leads to the need for protectivemeasures as it may potentially identify individuals from the information exchange processes.In this paper, we discuss about the common criteria for privacy and integrity protection in theProbe Vehicle System. Afterwards, we describe the standardization activities in ISO about thecriteria based on this examination.
