THE COMPARATIVE STUDY ON POST-QUAKE RURALCOMMUNITY'S RECONSTRUCTION FOR TAIWAN CHI-CHIEARTHQUAKE IN 1999

摘要

Taiwan Chi-Chi Earthquake which happened in September 21st, 1999 struck middle areas of Taiwan andcaused serious damages. How to undertake reconstruction for the rural communities becomes a main taskafter Chi-Chi Earthquake. In this study, three rural communities with successful reconstruction arediscussed to uncover factors which will affect reconstruction through analyzing their reconstructionmechanisms. What the purpose of this study is to understand the key elements for rural community'sreconstruction and to suggest a feasible mode for rural community's reconstruction. As the result, thefactors which will affect rural communities' reconstruction are as follows: co-operation betweenprofessional consultants and community's residents, holding activities to concentrate consciousness ofresidents, creating reconstruction fund spontaneously, undertaking personnel training plan and settingcommunity's developing vision.
