An attempt was made to evaluate the effects of copper supplementation in sheep involving non-descript local and crossbred animals. Single dose of copper glycinate @ 120 mg/animal was administered by subcutaneous route at brisket region Samples of blood and wool were collected on 0,30th and 90th day of trial. Marked effect on the physical characters of wool was seen as rusty brown wool coat of local bred non-descript ewes changed to black and crimps of wool fibers were restored in Corriedale crossed hoggets The body weight and fleece growth showed non-significant (P < 0.05) improvement. Hematology of the animals revealed significant (P < 0.05) improvement in PCV with non-significant (P < 0 05) rise in the values of Hb and TEC. Based on the findings, it was concluded that quality of wool was affected despite normal plasma levels of copper, which could be due to its decreased bioavailability in presence of elevated levels of antagonists like Mo, Fe and S.
