In establishment of performance-based design code of structures, the specifications of target levels for various performances of structure and ways how to guarantee these levels are required. In this study, the deformation performance of steel piers of highway bridges are paid attention, and the evaluation of seismic reliability of steel piers under cyclic loading is carried out for deformation performance with the aim of introducing into the reliability-based design code. In structural analysis, the elasto-plastic finite deformation analysis method is used, and the probabilistic distribution of displacement response spectrum is estimated for various seismic loads. Through of some numerical calculations, the relationship between the deformability performance and reliability index is evaluated, and the effect of the slenderness ratio parameter and the flexural stiffness of longitudinal stiffeners on the seismic reliability index of steel pier are evaluated.
