Basic Cathodic Protection Instrumentation

The corrosion engineer must have a sound basic knowledge of the variety of test instruments used in corrosion work and he or she must know how to use them effectively in the field. Only with such knowledge can reliable and meaningful data be obtained. The corrosion engineer will routinely be called upon to employ not only common electronic multimeters but very specialized instrumentation as well.rnIn this chapter we will discuss, in Section 1, typical equipment used for the various field tests. In Section 2, we will discuss the variety of accessories and supplementary equipment that may be needed along with the basic test instruments. Section 3 addresses the care and maintenance of corrosion instrumentation.
