ESTIMATING THE EXTENT OF I/I IN EPA REGION 4 USING NPDES MONITORINGREPORTS

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the US EPA’s PCS (Permit Compliance System) database andrndetermine various parameters that may be useful in developing I/I control and sewer rehabilitation strategiesrnon a state and regional level. This study summarizes DMRs (monthly NPDES Discharge MonitoringrnReports) for the 12 months of 1999 from 790 systems categorized as “major” by the various authorities in therneight states comprising Region 4. Generally, that category refers to plants with a hydraulic design capacityrngreater than 3,750 m3/day (1 mgd).
