Long-term needs of mankind must involve ambitious research methods, as well as innovativernpractical applications, which may provide a comprehensive investigation framework for managing Earthrnresources and mitigate natural hazards, aswell as global changes.Within the scope of these aims, Geo-engineeringrnmay help to implement and identify new large scale methods and processes that are required, as the means ofrnapplying scientific principles to attain practical objectives such as the design, construction, and operation ofrnefficient and economical structures, equipment and systems, both natural and man-made. Landscape stabilizationrnand control are certainly one of those mankind values that must be kept and improved, thus justifying a jointrneffort in which stabilization of rock and soil slopes is essential, particularly in volcanic environments such asrnislands. A short contribution is attempted with this presentation.
