Economic Loss/Opportunity: Cost to businesses, but also lost opportunity for employees as their opportunities are constrained. Environmental impact: Congestion dramatically increases impacts to neighboring communities and greenhouse gas emissions. Emergencies/Urgent Operations: Emergency services need to be more distributed and response times are impacted. The ability for anyone (public/private) facing an emergent or urgent situation is constrained. Personal Health: Numerous studies have shown that congestion impacts the personal and mental wellbeing of not only drivers, but those in the communities affected. 'Hat Running': Communities are being radically transformed by daily traffic flows on residential streets as congestion overflows into the places where we live. Regressive Burden: Congestion is the ultimate tax on the less fortunate. Enabling alternative transit, options, on the ground and in the air, is imperative.
