This paper deals with new railway vehicles for long distance and suburbanrnservice, with crashworthy design features, designed and manufactured byrnCostaferroviaria Company (Italy).rnIn the recent years the improvement of the railway vehicle crashworthinessrnhas became a more important requirement for vehicles design, particularlyrnfor driving vehicles.rnBy means of quasi-static crush test, on full scale underframe of the cab, thernvalidation of the proposed design and the measure of the amount of energyrnwhich can be absorbed reliably by the single energy absorbing componentsrnhave been obtained.
