Abstract: For the past three years, the Airborne Environmental Surveys Division of Era Aviation, Inc. has continued the development and application of frequency-modulated, continuous wave radars and processes for detecting and mapping subsurface phenomena. Primary applications have focused on the detection of man-made objects in landfills, hazardous waste sites, and subsurface plumes of refined hydrocarbons. This paper presents a description of the current radar systems and peripherals and associated data processing. Examples of a recent survey are also presented.!0
