The ED truing properties of the boron doped electrically conductive diamond grits wheel as well as its grinding properties were investigated. The results can be concluded as below. 1. Due to the ability of EDM removal on the boron doped diamond grits in oil, the ED truing efficiency of the boron doped diamond grits wheel is 3~4 times higher than the normal diamond grits wheel. 2. The flattening of the tip of the diamond grits could be achieved on a surface grinder using a water-soluble grinding fluid by keeping the polarity of the grinding wheel [+]. Although the grinding resistance using this grinding wheel was higher compared to a grinding wheel trued using a mechanical truing method, the workpiece surface roughness was 70% better. 3. From the results of the grinding test for a long period of time, with respect to the cemented carbide and optical glass workpieces there was a marked improvement in the grinding ratio in the case of the boron doped diamond grits wheel.
