Helen Gitmez and Aaron Ratledge explained that the changes in screen design reflected inputrnfrom BNSF’s and others. A participant asked about the reaction of crews when transitioning CabrnCommittee from trip advisor to trip optimizer. Gitmez and Ratledge replied that the earlierrnadvisement mode did not seem to be well accepted but crews liked trip optimizer, and preferredrnspending less time looking at the screen. Furthermore, iterative changes had been made to therninterface. Another participant then asked why the system was not first introduced to testersrnbefore going live. Gitmez and Ratledge explained there were varied requirements from differentrncustomers. For example, one customer only wanted auto-dynamic break (DB) up to notch 8. Inrnaddition, the manufacturer learned as they introduced new features. It was noted that in thernUnited Kingdom the industry tends to be given products as opposed to the United States wherernpurchasers seem to drive the design decisions.
