摘要

This paper describes the analysis technique of high resolution sequence stratigraphy that resulted in identification of some 50 shortterm, 8 mediumterm and 2 longterm baselevel cycle sequences from the Penglaizhen clastic formations of the Upper Jurassic System in BMM Field of the foreland basin, Western Sichuan, China, based on the calibration of the imaging and conventional logs to core and outcrop data. It details the characteristics of different grades of baselevel cycles, and the isochronous sequence stratigraphic framework, as well as the types, stacking patterns and distribution of the SSC; analyzes the developing locations of good reservoir combinations in the sequence stratigraphic framework, and discusses the A/S ratio control over sandbody distribution in terms of time and space. Based on the integrated evaluation, two optimal reservoir developing areas were predicted.
