The texture evolution of various aluminum alloys during cold rolling was investigated by X-ray diffraction. The rotation paths of the cube and rotated cube orientations were determined based on the variation in the three-dimensional orientation distribution function (ODF) with rolling reduction. Texture volume fractions were calculated by an improved integration method. The relationship between the texture volume fractions and rolling true strain was described quantitatively by mathematical formulae. The effects of alloy composition, initial microstructure and texture, and processing method on the texture evolution during rolling were determined.
