Almost Coherent Demodulation of M-ary FSK over Slow Rayleigh Fading Channels

In this paper, we investigate the application of iterative channel estimation and decoding for M-ary FSK signals transmitted over a Slow Rayleigh Fading channel. In the first pass the decoder carries out a non-coherent demodulation and uses the symbols with high reliability to estimate the Channel State Information (CSI). Subsequently, the CSI is used to carry out an almost coherent demodulation, using which the estimates are iteratively improved.
