Entrepreneurship in China: Younger and Older Generations

Three factors were expected to be important when we started the study. However, the younger and older generations of Chinese entrepreneurs, even though they have different backgrounds or beliefs, have similar behavioral characteristics in entrepreneurship. Gender and Education do not show any differences in behavioral characteristics in entrepreneurs. The only significant difference found is in the Total Planning measures, wherern1. Male entrepreneurs were found to have more planning than the female entrepreneurs. 2. College educated entrepreneurs were found to have morernplanning than the entrepreneurs without college education. Further Research in entrepreneurial development needs to be conducted in other cities in China as well as in other countries. In addition, longitudinal studies need to be carried out to track the successes and failures of entrepreneurs.
