摘要

Charbocations such as methyl cation and substituted methyl cations are an important intermediate in ionic reactions of organic compounds. The chemical properties of carbocations are well established, although the spectroscopic study is limited. Particularly, only a little properties of carbocations in the excited state are known. Carbocations can be easily generated as an intermediate from S_N2 reactions of methyl halides with bases, although the reactions are not appropriate for the spectroscopic studies of carbocations in the excited state because of the short lifetime in solution. Therefore, it is necessary to generate carbocations where spectroscopic studies can be performed.
