Ochre developmetn in drainage systems is a phenomenon that can lead to a drop in their draining capacity. this is a well-known phenomenon but the approach to this subject in geotechnical literature is still fairly rudimentary. this paper discusses the formation of ochre biofilm, the mterial resulting from bacteria microbial activity on the element iron. Tests were conducted to assess the susceptibility of different geotextiles as a substratum to the formaiton of these biofilms.
