3D DEM Simulations of Gas-Solid Fluidised Beds

摘要

A fully 3D DEM-based discrete particle-continuum fluid model of a fluidised bed has been employed in simulating gas-solid fluidisation and results compared with the equivalent 2D model. The observed general features are similar in the two models but some qualitative and quantitative differences, which may be significant in industrial applications, have been identified.
