Robosense is an EC funded project concerned with the robotic delivery of sensors in a seismic risk assessment framework. The aim of the project is to develop a climbing vehicle for the inspection and assessment of high value infrastructure. The equipment will be used to deploy sensors for seismic risk assessment and also to provide structural evaluation of building lifecycle degradation in a broader sense. This will enable the operators of large infrastructure to respond to the imperative to improve methods for seismic risk assessment and to meet new standards for structural risk assessment at a lower cost.
