Natural Rubber production and development of Yunnan State Farms Group Co., Ltd

With 50 years development,Yunnan rubber industry has developed into one of four pillaragricultural industries with local characteristics,experiencing the processes of suitableforestland survey,introduction and experiment,scale operation,popularization of high qualityseed,popularization of comprehensive technology of high-yield and anti-drought for planting,tapping system reform,effectiveness improvement. At present,Yunnan natural rubberplantations mainly spread in the southern and southwestern altitude of 800 to 1,000 meters inthe tropics,throughout seven cities,28 counties (cities),of which Xishuangbanna is the mainplanting areas,followed by Pu'er,Honghe,Lincang and Dehong,a small amount also spreadin Wenshan and Baoshan. In 2007,it is estimated that the total planting area of NR reach 5.4million mu,with total production area of 2.49 million mu. The total output of dry rubber is 3million tons. Of the total planting area,Yunnan State Farms Group Co.,Ltd. owns 2.3 millionmu,with tapping area of 1,265 thousand mu,total output of dry rubber of 168.5 thousand tons.NR resources is relatively concentrated in Yunnan,most of the rubber estates are joinedtogether,which is helpful for scale management and the layout adjustment of rubberprocessing plants.
