The cook-off tests of 3 sizes of sealed HNS explosive cylinders were carried out under temperature-programmed mode with a self-made cook-off device. The response of HNS explosive cylinder was obtained under different test conditions. The sample tubes with weak links were designed. With the damages of weak links and steel dents, the output conditions of HNS explosive cylinders in cook-off environment were characterized. The results show that HNS explosive cylinders just thermally decompose under the test condition of 3.3℃/h. The temperature at which the explosive reacts is about 302.5-314.7℃ under 5℃/min and 10℃/min. With the steel dents and expansion of sample tubes, the reaction intensity goes up as the charge weight increases, and it is relative to the test methods.
