Both thermal heated and solvent-spray methods were used to consolidate triethyeneglycol dinitrate (TEGN) granular propellants to consolidated propellants. The obtained consolidated propellants were deterred and coated by the slow burning coating multi-layers. Their mechanic, combustion and deconsolidated properties were tested by the materials test machine, closed vessel and interrupted burning set-up, respectively. It is obvious that the consolidated propellants charge deterred by coating multi-layers indicated a two-stage combustion phenomenon. After the outer deterred coating multi-layer of consolidated samples was finished burning, the inner consolidated propellants continued to burn and deconsolidated to aggregates and grains. Results showed that higher mass and high progressivity can be obtained by consolidated propellants, while the deconsolidated process can be controlled concurrently.
