DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM OF RAILWAY CONSTRUCTION COST

The paper introduces a data management system of railway construction cost (DMSORC), an expert system for estimation of railway construction cost (ESORC1), and also a draft design of assistant decision expert system of railway construction cost (ESORC2), all these being combined to form a decision support system of railway construction cost (DSSORC). This system provides a highly efficient service to the realization of modernized management of railway construction cost, standardized cost estimation and also scientific decision.rnPresently, the railway construction cost management and the assistant decision are at a low level as shown by the fact that the construction cost data are manually prepared and kept on discrete records, thus causing difficulty in their use; that the railway construction costs are still estimated through manual calculations involving enormous work; and that such matters as quick bid price quotation, bid management, etc. are dependent on the experience of the engineers, not popularly applicable. Hence it becomes an outstanding problem to make the management and assistant decision in the respect of railway construction cost modernized, standardized and scientific so as to satisfy the requirements of the developing national economy. The decision support system of railway construction cost (DSSORC) is thus developed.
