摘要

The rolling of magnesium sheets is carried out in a processconsisting of multiple passes with low degree of deformation perpass. The low degree of formability of magnesium and its alloysmakes it necessary to carry our rolling in multiple steps.Alternatively, it has been shown that the extrusion of flat and thinplates is feasible.By applying this process on alloys AZ31, ZE10 and ME21, thinsheets with final gauge below 1 mm have been achieved. Amicrostructure and texture analysis as well as the mechanicalproperties of these sheets reveal distinct differences compared to aclassically rolled counterpart.A series of Nakajima tests has been used to investigate theformability of the sheets. Forming limit curves have been derivedat elevated temperatures. Strain path related differences in theformability at elevated temperatures of such sheets are discussedbased on an EBSD analysis of deformed samples for the alloys.
