摘要

The objective of the present work is to devleop the previous theory of streamlined deformation under the plane strain conditions. It is shown that the geometry of the streamlines is defined, in the general case, by a telegraph equation. In obtaining this general result, two special cases are lost: those corresponding to the cases where one and two families of characteristics are straight. Results for these cases are given as well. The solution near a free surface is considered. It is shown that the motion of material adjacent to free surfaces is a rigid body translation or rotation. An example of the application of the theory is given.
