The Research and Investigation of 'Unattended, Fewer People on Duty' Wind Farm

Abstract: Nowadays,more and more wind farms are located at remote areas where the living environments are harsh,and it brings great difficulties to the living of the people on duty.By enhancing the level of automation and realizing the "unattended,fewer people on duty" of wind farms,the working environment can be improved definitely and the operating cost can be reduced effectively.Generally,the concept of "unattended,fewer people on duty" and its related technologies are fully developed in the field of substation,but the application of the technology in wind farms is still in its infancy.In this paper,the basic characteristics of "unattended,fewer people on duty" wind farms are analyzed,and the contents of "four remote" information are investigated as well.Afterwards,the design ideas of automation system and communication system for "unattended,fewer people on duty" wind farms are proposed.
