摘要

The tetrapod-shaped zinc oxide whisker (ZnOw) was first used to improve antistatic property of Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fiber. In this unique method, zinc oxide whisker was diffused in warm-up bath in wet-spinning of PAN. Whisker diffused into first-born PAN fiber when filaments passed through the warm-up bath. During the process of stretching and drying, the whiskers were embedded in the fiber and oriented along the axis of the fiber. Then an electric access was formed in the cortex of the PAN fiber. By this method, the volume resistivity of PAN fiber reduced to 10~8Ω·cm and the breaking tenacity of PAN fiber did not deteriorate distinctly. At the same time, the color of this modified fiber was white, so it was easy to dye a hoped color. The analysis of the conductive mechanism indicated that the charge concentrating effect at the needles' tip of the whisker would be distinct if the material is under an electric field
