摘要

Because of limited financial resources and demands for improved infrastructure, the Maine Department of Transportation is developing more efficient techniques for highway rehabilitation projects through an implementation program known as CHIP. Under CHIP, project managers minimize rehabilitation costs by reusing and strengthening in-place road materials. This paper presents a case study that used geogrids and pavement grindings to strengthen an existing road. The subsurface investigation was conducted using Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) and power auger equipment to identify the weakest areas. Rehabilitation recommendations were based on this investigation.
