Fire Code Compliance and Life Safety for the New South Pole Station

摘要

A new U.S. Station for pursuit of scientific research is currently under construction at the South Pole in Antarctica. This Station has been designed in phases over a four-year period and is being constructed in stages over an even longer time frame. This paper covers some of the fire and life safety issues that are present - those that are both similar to other locations, and those that are unique to the local hostile environment.
