Implementation of facility siting at existing plants

The PSM regulation requires companies to address the issue of facility siting inProcess Hazard Analyses (PHAs). Originally, several different approaches were used by the various polymer manufacturing facilities of Huntsman Corporationto address the faoility siting requirements. A set of corporate guidelines was developed to enable a more uniform approach to be used in additional facility siting studies. Four case histories are discussed, along with the lessons learned.
