Selective Absorbent of Ammonia with Biological Activity For Odor Control of Disposable Diaper Products

An experimental approach was investigated to develop a bioactive system for the odor control of disposable diapers which retain large amount of urine for a long period. The main cause of the odor in the disposable diapers is the ammonia which is evolved by the activity of bio-disintegration of urea. The new system has the capability to absorb ammonia selectively and retain it for a long period of time. It has been proved experimetnally that the large amount of ammonia evolved from concentrated ammonium hydroxide is absorbed by the system with an effectiveness of around 91
