structural dynamics of a national foreign policy system: a generalized mathematical model

Foreign policy is an output, Y, of a national foreign pollicy system, Z, which has a structure K, a set of exogenous and endogenous inputs, X, and a set of exogenous nad endogneous distrubnaces, D.K has a set of job-specific components which have relations among themselves, alfa, so that k=fai(alfa). the variables X, D, alfa and K are depencednt on time, t, and the interrelationship among these variables is given by a form: X(t+1)=psai(K, X, D, alfa, t), where t>&=0. There is positive or negative feedback between Y and X. Z functions within a set of given parameters, V, which si assumed to be ocnstant, a generalized mathematical model is developed, with the help of nonlinear difference equations, explaining the maner in which the structural dynamics of Z determine the shape and direction of Y.
