The model for the trade study process described in this tutorial is based on the ‘Standard Approach to Trade Studies’. Thernprocess modeled herein describes the steps for performing and documenting a trade study (trade-off study), developing productsrnfor the Decision-Making Authority (DMA), and guidelines in tailoring the study to meet the needs of the program. This trade studyrnprocess model is a series of steps used to transform subjective data to more quantitative information for the DMA in the decisionmakingrnprocess. Particular attention is given to support the Program/Project manager with information in support of decisionsrnmade resulting from this trade study process with an emphasis on resurrecting and updating a trade study at a later date.
