It has been over 70 years for China to produce tire, but the annual output of tire was less than 30 000 units before 1950. The tire output reached 11,460 000 units in 1980, but generally, they were bias tires. The tire output had increased to 160 000 000 units by 2003, among them the radial tire accounted for 47.5%, i.e. 76 000 000 units including 11 170 000 units of TBR tire. The development of radial tire began in China in the middle of 1960s, and its commercialization began in the early of 1990s. The annual output of radial tire increased on average by 40% during 1990～2000 in China and by 28% during 2000～2003 with the benefit from the rapid development of automobile industry and expressway. The annual output of TBR tire increased by over 60% for last two years.
