CONDENSED WHITE-BOX IMPLEMENTATIONS

Due to the success of new communication techniques like the Internet, we are rapidly moving towards a more distributed world. While these new techniques, which made it possible to create a broad range of new applications such as e-banking and streaming video, give more functionalities to users, malicious users have more abilities as well. Recently, a new threat model, called the White-Box Attack Context, has been proposed by Chow et al., describing these abilities and goals of the malicious user. In this paper we describe the techniques by Chow et al., called White-Box Cryptography, which intends to counter these types of attacks, and some improvements which we have implemented, for a White-Box DES implementation.
