We analyze a recently proposed protocol for anonymous fair exchange e-commerce. The protocol is meant to be a demonstration of the theory of cross validation. We show that the cross validation system is ineffective. We reformulate the goals of an anonymous fair exchange e-commerce protocol and present a new primitive that can be used in order to achieve them.
