The paper describes the "state of the art" and the more recent innovations concerning the structural design of the RO-RO passenger vessels. Due to the high inner complexity, these vessels require either powerful and sophisticated analysis tools, and innovative theoretical approaches devoted to address the correct design solutions, in terms of efficiency, safety, lightness and with the major cost benefits for the Yard.
