MARINS, the First FOG Navigation System for Submarines

IXSea has developed a new submarine navigation system using Fiber-Optic Gyro technology: MARINS. This technology brings a much better price/performance ratio for such high accuracy, an improved reliability and a longer lifetime. The paper describes this system and will present results of trials that were performed during 2005 last quarter at the French Ministry of Defense laboratory and navigation results onboard a Navy vessel.
