The Masada CES OxyNol~(TM) process converts municipal solid waste and waste water biosolids into ethanol. Municipal solid waste undergoes materials recovery for plastic, glass, metals and high quality fibers. The cellulosic fraction is converted into sugar by concentrated acid hydrolysis. The sugar stream is then fermented and distilled into pure ethanol. Process water for ethanol production is derived from waste water biosolids. The Orange Recycling and Ethanol Production Facility, a public private partnership, employs an conservative project financing structure with no financial risk to the host and member municipalities, stabilizes long term waste disposal costs and minimize environmental liabilities.
