The ROM was not statistically different for the implanted Stentec levels and the intact treatment, P>0.05 for loading modes (flexion, extension, lateral bend, and rotation). At the superior adjacent segment, L3-4, the forces on the facet joint increased with single Stentec implantation at L4, however an increase was not observed when single implantation occurred at L5. At the implanted levels (L4 and L5) the facet force were significantly reduced for single and multiple level implantation.rnThe results obtained from both experimental and computational studies supported our hypothesis since the results indicated that the range of motion did not alter the kinematic profile of the implanted lumbar spine.
