摘要

An adaptive response surface method is proposed which allows adaptation by reducingrnthe local error between two randomly oriented approximating response surfaces. The approximatingrnresponse surfaces are constructed as a set of n-simplices (with n as the dimension of the randomrnvariable space) which interpolate linearly the conditional failure probabilities between determinedrnlimit state points. Only 2(n + 1) limit state points are required for the initial configuration. Thernadaptation is performed by successive subdivisions of the respective approximating response surfacesrnsuch that the computational error is concentrated in regions contributing most to the absolute errorrnof the approximation. The proposed method is illustrated for a series system, a hyper-plane, a framernstructure under random loading and a plate with random material properties.
