摘要

The dynamic range of the transducers available for measurement of circumferential strains are not large enough to measure the full extent of strains associated with lateral deformations of high strength concrete samples. Moreover, the current chain-type extensometers do not measure the circumferential strains accurately. The measured deformations include linear approximations to circumferential deformations. The work described here pertains to the design and development of a new fiber optic sensor for measurement of circumferential strains in concrete samples.
