Stop the Rain Drain: Community Outreach to Promote Downspout Redirection in Urban Neighborhoods

Stop the Rain Drain (SRD) is a public education program sponsored by Capitol RegionrnWatershed District (CRWD) in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The program website is:rnstopraindrain.org. SRD uses community-based marketing to promote polluted runoff reductionrnby redirecting downspouts away from impervious surfaces to lawn or garden areas wherernstormwater may infiltrate. Because of its ostensible simplicity, downspout redirection wasrnidentified as a preferred behavior by CRWD in its 2009 Education Plan.
