Selecting New Formulation of Industrial Gear Oil - Focus on EP Performance

To replace an expensive and partially obsolete component-blend formulation of Engen's industrial EP gearrnoils, several additive-package formulations were tested and compared with other oil companies' products.rnSome of the tests were done at the Tribology Laboratory in the Department of Chemical Engineering,rnUniversity of Pretoria. The paper covers the methodology used and the main results - with particular focus onrnthe innovative 30-hour extended FZG test.
