摘要

We show that point lens microlensing events with impact parameter close to the source stellar radius allow the observer to study the variations of the surface brightness profile of the source due to non-radial pulsations. In particular, due to the differential magnification pattern of the event, variations of the local emergent flux are not averaged to zero for modes of high-degree l. We argue that it is thus possible to photometrically detect flux variations due to high order non-radial modes in F and G subgiant and late B stars from ground or space observations.
