Multizonal coiled tubing fracturing(CT ffac)services have been rnsuccessfully performed in shallow gas fields in western Canada rnfor more than l year.Properly managing and designing the rnserviceability of CT strings is critical to these operations.rn This paper discusses the practical and theoretical aspects of rnoptimizing the ffac-string design,changing the equipment geom-rnetry of the CT units.And Using a CT fatigue model and fatigue-rnsimulation Software.The paper also discusses factors affecting rnthe longevity and performance of ffac strings,programs for rncontinuously monitoring the service life of the strings,and rnactions considered for recovering and extending the fatigue life.rn With a properly designed and implemented comprehensive rntubing managementprogram,service operators in western Canada rnhave heloed ensure a high degree of personnel safety during rnfracturing while minimizing the risk of CT failure and maximiz-rning pipe life.
